A University police report states alcohol could be obtained for those under the age of 21 and IDs were not always checked during a fraternity party last month where a Georgia College and State University student claimed she was raped.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported Saturday that Athens-Clarke police have yet to determine if the woman was sexually assaulted because the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's State Crime Lab hasn't completed its report.

Talk shows, tabloids, the blogosphere and the rest of my fellow gossip-inclined Americans love a Hollywood feud. People can not get enough, whether it be Britney and K-Fed, Paris and yesterday's B.F.F., or simply Naomi Campbell and any unfortunate soul in her path.

The Progress has a confession to make. We try to dupe ourselves with a concoction of dementia and denial and believe our poignant articles are the main focus of students on campus who read the paper.
But really, who are we kidding?

For students, finals week is a stressful blur of coffee, blue books and Scantrons.
For textbooks, it's the most eventful week of the semester. Thousands move from the hands of students to the hands of retailers-and then back into the students' hands again a few weeks later.

Every time I get a new list of the up-and-coming album releases for a new season, my music antennas start vibrating, and I get all warm and velvety inside. It's not really that serious but I do get a bit excited. The Spring 2008 list has some of my favorites: Coldplay, Nas, The Academy Is, Al Green, and Ray Lamontagne, along with some new sounds that I would like to try out.
